Step 1. Visit the Business Programs Division’s California SOS Business Search Page by clicking on this link.
Step 2. Select whether you want to search using the “Corporation Name, LP/LLC Name”, or “Entity Name”. If you choose to search the CA Business Entity Search by name, type a name, for example “American Coffee Company” on the field. Fill out the filtering fields with “Keyword”, “Exact”, or “Begins With” options. Hit “Search”.
Step 3. On the CA Corp Search results page, some basic details of the business entity will be displayed along with the name. Click the name for further information. Aside from viewing the information, you can also download some details about the business. You can have your own copy of the entity’s documents in PDF.
